Tournypiece:Fall of Steve

I FINALLY FINISHED IT. My piece for the tournament at .

-and it needs some explanation:

The theme was turning characters from kids shows into bamfs. I chose dora, diego, and kai lan (you know--the three bilingual kids).
The concept here is that Steve ( the original host of blues clues) is one of the older shows and he's fighting for his place.(blues clues actually finished in 2008). I chose Steve because he was my favorite back when i watched blues clues even tho he went away to rehab (not college like it says in the cartoon) and i never really liked the replacement.

I focused on dora first cause she was the biggest part of my childhood other than blues clues out of the shows on nick jr. If this was a comic she'd be the main protagonist.
In her panel, her and Boots have just defeated Steve's watchdogs magenta and blue and are waiting for diego and kai lan to flush steve out. she has a sword because...well...she's an "explorer". gotta find something useful while exploring yanno?

Diego's included because he's family--wanted to relate back to the "family sticks together" thing that some hispanic families have. He's fighting the bobo brothers (from the cartoon). How? WITH HIS FISTSSSS.

Kai lan's show isn't that old but i figured "hey might as well keep the bilingual theme" and i was already making up a background for her. Mr Sun bestows upon her the powers of her animal friends after her grandpa dies of an unknown illness. She now hangs with diego and dora.

Steve, blinded by insanity half believes that his time has not yet come. He sits in his "thinking chair" throne waiting for the three billingual explorers instead of running because there is a sane half that tells him he's done for and that there is no use in running.

this is what was eating up my art time/replying to comments time. it was labor of love and resulted in cramped up hands/wrists. The biggest picture i've ever done. done in mspaint and ps7 portable with my bamboo fun tablet. partly drawn to baltimore club remixes of dora and blues clues.

nick jr owns dora, diego, kai lan, and blue's clues(can you find the pawprint?????).

edit: i'm so sorry that my steve looks nothing like the real steve. it was done quickly b/c i just wanted something on the side composition wise.
